  1. Capulet proudly accommodated the international TREK Mountain Bike team (riders and support staff) for the 2 week duration of the World Championships event held in Pietermaritzburg in March - for the second consecutive year.
Dusi Canoe Marathon, one of the toughest canoe events in the world that stretches over 120km. The event which begins at Camps Drift near Pietermaritzburg is paddled through two river systems, the Umsindusi and the Umgeni and ends at the Blue Lagoon.

Comrades Marathon in Pietermaritzburg, the world’s greatest ultra-marathon, 90km. Run between the capital of Kwazulu Natal, Pietermaritzburg, and the coastal city of Durban. This event attracts runners from all around the world.

Mont-Aux-Sources Challenge in Drakenberg, A 50km solo trail run that takes place at Mont-Aux-Sources.
Pick 'n Pay AmaShovaShova National Classic Bike Race in Pietermaritzburg, one of the oldest classic cycling races in South Africa. The race starts at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall and follows the same route as the Comrades Marathon, finishing at the Suncoast Casino.
The annual Garden & Leisure Show, sponsored by the Sunday Tribune newspaper, is held at the Royal Showgrounds in the garden city of Pietermaritzburg. First held in 1974, it is the biggest horticultural and leisure industry expo in the country.
